A simple harmonic oscillator placed in a resisting medium, consists of a 100-g mass attached to a spring whose force constant is 10^{4} dyne/cm (1 dyne = 10^{-5} N). The mass is displace 3cm and released from rest. After oscillating for 10s, the maximum amplitude decreases to half the initial value. Compute (d) the damping parameter \beta, (e) the frequency v_{1} and (f) the decrement of the motion.
