Respond in one paragraph as a peer, Christianity seemed to be the most popular religion at this time, although religion still seemed to vary between territories and the people. Brooks refers to it as a "hotbed of religious diversity" (Brooks 2020) because many people were still practicing their own choice of religion. No one took the time and made sure there was only religion to practice. Rome had a lot of diverse cultures who all had their own beliefs.

The similarities between the Roman empire and the Roman republic were that they both were at a time when Rome was still in control over all of its territory. They were also similar because it was always the slaves and the poor people that got the short end of the stick anytime wealthy people were involved. The main difference is that during the Roman Republic, there was more than one person running everything. During the Roman empire there seemed to only be one ruler at a time.
