You are working in the Emergency Department and admit the following patient: Ms. Smith, age 38 was driving while intoxicated from drinking alcohol. She was transported to the ED by ambulance following a motor vehicle crash where she collided with a tree. She was not wearing her seatbelt, how her airbag did deploy. Upon arrival you noted she is lethargic, but opens her eyes to verbal stimuli, confused to time and follows commands. GCS-13. She appears restless and complains of a right sided headache. A stat CT scan is ordered. Results show a skull fracture in the right temporal area. You observe her for signs of increased intracranial pressure (ICP).
