A researcher would like to compare the political attitudes for college freshmen with those for college seniors to see if they are different. Samples of n1 = 10 freshmen and n2 = 10 seniors are obtained, and each student is given a questionnaire measuring political attitude on a scale from 0 (very conservative) to 100 (very liberal). The average score for the freshmen is 1 = 52 with a variance of s12 = 480, and the seniors average 2 = 39 with a variance of s22 = 420. Conduct a t-Test (two-tail, α = .05) for two Independent groups to see if there is a significant difference between the two groups (follow the Handout).
