The Significance Shear Wall in Mility Story Building and the Effect of Shear Wall Location on Performance of High-Rise Building

Subjected to Lateral Loading and Resisting Earthquake.

Everting has to be accordance with the relevant Eurocode of Concrete Building.

Abstract

Introduction

Aim

Determine the optimum Structural configuration of a multistore building by changing the shear wall locations and evaluate the performance of reinforcement concrete plane frames under lateral loads.

For optimization of shear wall location, four different cases of shear wall position for multi-story building will be analysed.

We can look at
1) The variation of storey drifts of the models to be studied.
2) The variation of displacement has to studied

Objective

Literature Review

Building detail and description
Please describe in detail the building specifications and any assumptions that has been made on the analysis of project.

Methodology
Structural analysis should be carried out by using a computer modelling software ETABS in accordance with Eurocode Design of Reinforced Concrete Building

Building Details to be analyses

Please change the shear wall location in this building and analysis the effective location in terms of the project objective.
• Model the building on etabs by changing location of the shear wall and
• Make graph of the findings on the result section
• Write on discussion

STRUCTURAL MODELLING
Drawings form the ETABs software and different cases and shear location that has been analysed.

Objectives:
To implement a proposed solution to a problem and write a technical report evaluating the effectiveness of the solution.

Assessment Task:

Prepare a technical report (~4250 words) on the findings of your project. This should be of the form:
• Introduction (including aim and objectives)
• Literature/previous work review
• Research strategy/procedure (what methods were used and why were they selected)
• Results
• Discussion
• Conclusion
• References (in APA format)

Learning outcomes:

The successful completion of this assignment contributes to the achievement of all unit learning outcomes:

Learning outcome 1: Propose an investigation to solve a significant technical engineering problem.

Learning outcome 2: Critically analyse and compare relevant literature, data and experience.

Learning outcome 3: Develop and plan a programme of work for an in-depth investigation.

Learning outcome 4: Apply sound engineering principles to solving technical problems and critically assess validity and limitations of the solutions.
