You are to write a 2000-word report on the financial position and performance of a stock listed company of your choice from a manufacturing industry. To do this you need the latest and previous year annual reports of the company.
(i)Introduction: You should provide a short introduction to the organisation, which identifies the key resources of the organisation, before providing a brief comment on the challenges it faces in meeting its objectives in its markets.
(ii) Discuss the different stakeholders who might be interested in the financial statements and financial performance of your chosen company.
(ii) Evaluate the financial statements and other financial information relating to your chosen company to assess how the company has performed over the past TWO years using financial ratios
(iii) Discuss how your chosen company's performance over the past TWO years compares with its main competitor. Your answer should include a common size statement and some discussion as to whether the competitor identified faced the same opportunities and problems that listed company faced
(iv) Conclusion: Critically evaluate whether you would recommend buying shares in this company
Analyze financial data and other relevant information of an organization and refer to relevant literature to form a judgment on the relative performance and the effectiveness of management in meeting the strategic corporate objectives in a given scenario.
The work demonstrates excellent in-depth knowledge of the background of the chosen company, is able to evaluate the financial statement of company, and compare the company performance to competitors, is able to critically discuss the limitations of ratio analysis and is able to arrive at a reasonable conclusion.
