In Ethiopia, the successful case of positive deviance is shown in the rise of skilled maternal healthcare. Rural women's attitudes towards skilled birth attendants vary greatly, and some of them have changed positively by seeking such attendants for childbirth, which results in improved maternal and neonatal outcomes (Ousman et al. 2020). These factors have contributed to the deviation which include increased awareness through community education, influence of women who had positive childbirth experiences with skilled attendants and community health strategies that emphasize the benefits of professional healthcare during childbirth (Bisits-Bullen, 2011).
