Items to include in your portfolio:-
Surrealism/Journeys Project
1. 1 x A1 sheet of research on surrealism relating to your specialist area of study.
2. 1 x A1 sheet - Photos of the collaborative drawing project and a piece of it that you have worked into.
3. 1 x A1 sheet of development ideas, combining the surrealist theme and journeys to create a personal response (within your specialist area of study). Including collage and photography work.
4. Conclusion - final piece relating to your specialism (illustration, model, painting, film, photo, sculpture)

Nature in Modern Life Project
6. Research- 1 x A1 sheet of primary research (drawings, paintings, photos, mood boards, sound recordings, written notes, market research, film clips). Annotate explaining why you have chosen certain images and how they relate to your theme. (Primary research sheet)
7. Research - 1 x A1 sheet of secondary research (internet images, copies from books/magazines, quotes, musical compositions, videos/films). Annotate explaining why you have chosen certain images and how they relate to your theme. (Secondary research sheet)
8. Research - 1 x A1 sheet of contextual research (other artists, designers, film makers, media and musicians work). Annotate explaining why you have chosen certain images and how they relate to your theme. (Secondary research sheet)
9. Development - 10 x designs/sketches/photos/sound patterns/videos explaining your idea development. Annotate explaining what is good and why (strengths) and what has not worked (weaknesses). (Interpreting research sheet)
10. Development - experimentation with media and materials (pastel, paint, colour markers, computer software). There should be evidence that you have looked at other artists/designers illustrations as inspiration. Annotate explaining what is good and why (strengths) and what has not worked (weaknesses). (Interpreting research sheet)
11. Development - show that you have analysed your development and selected strong elements to create your final piece. Annotate explaining why you have made these selections/decisions. (Analytical/critical thinking sheet).
12. Conclusion - final piece (illustration, model, painting, film, musical composition, media design, photo, sculpture)

14. Student Self-assessment sheets Weeks 2-12. Make sure that each sheet is ticked and comments have been written in the student feedback section.
15. Any additional personal work, images, drawings, photos, design development, media experimentation, illustration techniques and written notes should be stuck into a sketchbook or presented on A1 sheets.
16. Add in any extra life drawing which you have produced in the evening sessions (particularly advisable for animation, graphics and fine art students).
If you are not satisfied with any of the work that you have produced, you are welcome to re-do it. Please include the original as well as new versions.
