Scenario 1: Your children are downstairs in the living room playing with plastic swords. You tell them about not playing with swords in the house and then go back into the kitchen. A few minutes later, you hear a loud crash and some crying. When you go into the living room, you find your favorite vase smashed on the floor and both kids holding swords in their hands. Your oldest says it was the other one who knocked over the vase. What do you do? How would Kant handle the situation?

Scenario 2: Both driver A and driver B decide to drive home from a bar one night despite both being intoxicated. Driver A makes it home safely while driver B hits a small child who happens to run into the street suddenly in order to chase after a ball. Is there a moral difference between what driver A did and driver B did? If both drivers were arrested and you were the judge in charge of sentencing them, would you give them the same punishment? Explain. How would Kant respond?

Scenario 3: You decide you're not going into work today because you just don't feel like it. You might even take the rest of the week off too. Is it morally acceptable not show up to work? How would Kant respond?

Scenario 4: You're driving on the highway, and since you're late for work, you think about speeding in order to avoid getting in trouble with your boss. For Kant, should the fact that there are no police on the road and it is a virtual certainty that you will not get a ticket factor into your ethical decision making?
