Problem I. If caffeine normally leads to physical dependence but not addiction (based on the material in this course), should it be more highly regulated or is its current availability and legality the best system (and we shouldn't change it)?

Problem II. We know less about what the other cannabinoids (other than THC and CBD) in marijuana are doing and they might have extra harm and they might have extra therapeutic properties. Should we make medical plant-based marijuana legal at the federal level or should we stay with the current federal system in which purified CBD and purified THC are both available by prescription but medical plant-based marijuana isn't?

Problem III. Marijuana is less likely to cause lethal overdoses, less likely to cause lethal withdrawal symptoms, and people don't seem to be deterred from quitting due to the withdrawal symptoms. In all cases, this seems less dangerous than alcohol. However, marijuana can lead to addiction. Should recreational marijuana be legal federally (and alcohol keeps its same status), should recreational alcohol and recreational alcohol both be federally illegal, or should we keep the same status we currently have? Technically, if you want, you could also argue for switching so that recreational marijuana is legal and recreational alcohol is illegal.
