Question: Pat was a certified registered nurse anesthetist who worked at a hospital. Pat met with his supervisor regarding his job performance. His supervisor toldPat of complaints he had received from members of the hospital staff, including complaints that Pat was often late for surgeries, did not make proper patient status reviews, and failed to review EKG and lab results in a timely manner. The supervisor warned Pat that his repeated failure to perform patient workups in advance of surgery and his careless attitude would no longer be tolerated.
