Assignment:
Scenario:
Over the past six weeks, Yummiest Chocolates has completed the first step of the ADDIE model - training needs analysis. The needs analysis results determined that the first wave of training should target sales employees at the manager level, with a focus on developing skills in sales.
With this information, Michele (Training Leader) is now ready to work with her team to move to the second step of the ADDIE model - design - to help Yummiest Chocolates reach its number one strategic priority: 20% growth in sales across Canada within a 12-month period.
Michele's team is comprised as follows: training manager, instructional designer, training coordinator, and a trainer/facilitator who is skilled at soft-skills training.
Additionally, Yummiest Chocolates has recently hired Ming (Head of Sales), who was responsible for designing and delivering sales training at his previous company. Based on Ming's previous experience and the needs of the organization, the CEO, Radhika, has given Ming the responsibility to achieve Yummiest Chocolates' growth target and has asked him to make this his number one priority for his first six months on the job.
Ming is in agreement with Michele that sales training is the best way to achieve the strategic priority. Michele has asked Ming if he will act as the SME during the content design process.
Question:
Based on the information in the scenario, Yummiest Chocolates should make the decision to build/design its sales training in-house and use an internal facilitator to deliver it.
