Assignment:

What do you think? Insurance debate Should health insurance companies charge people more money if they don't eat healthier food options to limit a medical condition they have or maintain weight? Car insurance companies charge more if someone has a bad driving record and life insurance companies charge more if someone smokes. Should it be different for health? In the alternative, what do you think about insurance companies offering discounts to people who maintain good health vs charging others more? Health care costs are ever increasing, and the intent of insurance is to spread the risk among several people groups. Younger people are usually healthier and contribute more to the fund than others who use more funds than they contribute. In other words, young adults' insurance premiums often go to older less healthy adults. If health care insurance utilization goes up, everyone's premiums go up. Encouraging others to take a healthy path may help keep your premiums lower.
