Findings

Los Angeles has a higher estimated number of premature deaths due to air pollution, but this is likely due to the city's larger population.

Recommendations

Both cities should continue to invest in public transportation, promote non-motorized vehicles, and implement stricter emissions standards.
Jakarta should also focus on improving its public transportation system and enforcing environmental regulations more effectively.
Los Angeles should focus on reducing emissions from its industrial sector and adapting to the impacts of climate change.

In addition to these recommendations, both cities should also consider the following:

Promoting mixed-use development: This can help to reduce reliance on private vehicles by making it easier for people to live, work, and play in the same area.
