More and more we see organizations laying off full time employees or opting not to hire full time staff in order to hire contract employees. With many contract employees, organizations do not have to contribute to benefit plans, invest as much into employee wellness or offer the level of incentives. Contract employees do not belong to a union. Do you think it is ethical for organizations to keep hiring contract personnel instead of full time employees? What do you you think this says about the commitment of the organization to its employees? Often times, companies will opt for contract workers in order to save money and increase profit (decrease loss). Should companies focus more on the wellness of its employees rather than focusing on profit?
