ASSIGNMENT:

Bob, a suspect in a homicide, was taken into custody and brought into an interrogation room by Officer Smith. Officer Smith read Bob his Miranda warnings. Bob answered a number of questions for about an hour. After about one hour, Officer Smith asked Bob a specific question about the homicide. Bob replied "Maybe I should talk to an attorney." Officer Smith continued questioning Bob, who finally confessed to the crime. At trial Bob argued that his right to counsel had been violated because he had asked for an attorney before he confessed. You are the Judge in the case. Should Bob's confession be admitted into evidence or excluded? Why?
