Select a musical group, TV show, movie, video game, book, Tik Tok content creator, etc. that you really enjoy that not many people seem to know or think about very much. This assignment gives you the chance to promote this group/media to a general audience.

For your argument, your thesis should be focused on drawing attention to that piece of pop culture and why it is worth legitimate consideration by those around you. Assume that any purely sentimental appeals will only fall on deaf ears. Liking something because you grew up with it won't really make someone else want to watch or listen to it, for example. You must make a pragmatic argument that looks to what makes this media worth consideration. Give them some good specific reasons for why this type of entertainment has value.

Part of writing a good argument is about selecting a topic that is actually arguable. Make sure you pick something that needs some defending. Creating your audience will be key in this argument. If you want to defend an already popular singer like Taylor Swift or Michael Jackson, then you'll need to lay out why they need defending. Who are you talking to through your paper? Star Wars and the MCU have active fan bases and are incredibly popular with many groups, but maybe their popularity has affected how they're judged.
