Over the past 6 years several members of the United States Congress have proposed that the United States should declare that Mexican Drug Cartels are Foreign Terrorist Organizations which would allow the United States to use the military along with other options to fight the cartels in the United States as well as within Mexico. The Mexican president believes that this action would violate Mexico's Sovereignty.
