The Gabby Giffords shooting in Arizona. A young man named Zamudio heard the gunshots. He was licensed to carry a firearm and came to the scene of the shooting within seconds. He saw a man with a gun and was about to shoot him, not knowing that the man had already disarmed the person who had shot Senator Giffords.

If Zamudio had shot the man who disarmed the real shooter, would he be civilly liable?
