Hospitals must be prepared for a multitude of disasters that might occur. They may occur within the community, the hospital may have to provide mutual assistance to a neighboring community, or the hospital may actually be part of the disaster area yet still be able to function.

Write a paper describing steps a hospital should take in setting up a disaster management response plan, and what challenges they may face. Factors to consider may be costs for training, extra equipment (portable generators, etc.), water concerns, transportation of employees, etc. Also consider what factors may contribute to a plan’s failure.
