Southwest Airlines is known for their organizational culture. It is considered one of the key factors contributing to their success. They are ranked 8th in 2017 as “Most Admired Companies in the World” and ranked 13th “Best Employer in 2016”.  

1. Geert Hofstede’s developed one of the most recognized set of descriptions of values in foreign cultures. Using Hoftede’s Theory on Cultural Dimensions, describe Southwest’s organizational culture. Explain how has the culture contributed to their success?

2. Next - -As the newly hired consultant and strategic planning manager, conduct a Culture Review on a country that you think would be a good fit for Southwest Airlines to expand its Products/ Services to. Explain why? Provide Pros & Cons for each Cultural Dimension.

3. If you were a manager employed by Southwest Airlines, and wanted to be assigned to spend a year in the above selected country, based on what you learned from the textbook on other scholarly sources, what training or other preparation needs do you believe you should have in order to be better prepared to be up and running as an employee in that country? Please provide support with an example.

4. With regards to Corporate Social Responsibility and social audits, in what ways will Southwest  Airlines have to adjust its current goals of social responsibility, to meet or satisfy the proposed country's general guidelines. You can justify your response by comparing and contrasting social responsibilities and social audits of Southwest and one competing airline from the selected country.
