High standards also include ethics. Sometimes serious issues arise about boundaries and potential deception. These incidents can evoke valid questions about performing business tasks (which are goal-oriented toward profitability) without jeopardizing integrity. How do you feel about negative messages and putting a positive spin on them? Do you think these practices are deceptive, necessary, or sound business tactics? Lastly, where is the boundary? When does the positive angle cross the line into deception?
With external communications, we must often deal with customers in an upright manner while still protecting company interests. With positive messages, these are easily accomplished.
