This assignment will allow you to practice reflecting on self-awareness so that it can become a regular habit as you progress as a developing counselor.

• Write a 1,050- to 1,400-word reflection paper on your self-awareness and aptitude for counseling. An APA formatted template for this assignment is provided as a resource below.

• Include the following:

o Describe what being self-aware means to you.

o Explain why self-awareness is important for counselors (Include at least one literary reference).

o Describe how self-awareness can aide in the development of skills as a counselor in training (Include at least one literary reference).

o Evaluate your current skill level in counseling.

o Describe what type of career in mental health you wish to pursue.

o Describe the skills you have that will contribute to a career in the mental health field.

• Include a minimum of 2 literary references.

• Format your paper according to APA guidelines.

• Create a 6- to 8-slide (approximately 10 minutes) Microsoft® PowerPoint® presentation to showcase your paper to your classmates during the face-to-face portion of residency in Week 2. Have this presentation loaded onto a thumb/USB drive as you will not be able to access the University projector with your laptop.
