Develop recruitment, selection and induction policies and procedures

Assessment Task 1

With reference to Fresh Style Fashion's policies in appendices, create a written report that includes the following:
(Maximum of 1000 words)

A) Analyse and modify the recruitment, selection and induction policies to improve their effectiveness

B) Create an appropriate template for a/an:
  i. Job vacancy advertisement
  ii. Selection criteria
  iii. Unsuccessful candidate notification
  iv. Providing feedback to unsuccessful candidates (post-interview)

C) Identify a minimum of 3 pieces of legislation relevant to recruitment, selection or induction

D) Review the company's current technologies and suggest 2 improvements to make processes more efficient.

Assessment Task 2

Your assessor will play the role of the store manager, and another trainer or student will play the role of the administrative assistant

A) Using your feedback template, created in Assessment 1 (Providing feedback to unsuccessful candidates (post-interview), explain your policies relevant to the template.

B) Ensure that the procedure is well explained to them.

Coach the assistant in the appropriate method of using the document. Revise the assistant's work to ensure that legislative and organisational requirements have been fulfilled.

C) Also explain to the store manager how a specialist could be used to streamline the recruitment process of Fresh Style Fashion
Your assessor will be looking for your ability to:
- Communicate policies to staff
- Provide training
- Oversee the implementation of new processes
- Monitor staff understanding of policy and procedure

Assessment Task 3

You and the administrative assistant are required to work on documents for the recruitment and selection of a new merchandiser. One of your current merchandisers is going on maternity leave for 2 years, and needs to be replaced for that time.

With reference to appendices G-J, identify the most appropriate sample documents. Justify your choice in the form of an explanatory memorandum, using relevant legislative or organisational requirements.

Assessment Task 4

Your assessor will play the role of FSF's inductee merchandiser who has recently completed the probation period. With reference to appendix K, provide the inductee with feedback regarding their progress at Fresh Style Fashion.

A. Discuss the induction process with the employee, and determine whether the program is meeting its intended function.

B. You are required to evaluate induction processes and recommend if any changes required in the induction process.

C. The inductee's performance needs to be reviewed and feedback has to be provided based on the performance using the template provided in the Appendices K

Your assessor will be looking for your ability to:
- Obtain feedback
- Build rapport with employees
- Monitor and coach a probationary employee
