Selecting and Securing Network Monitoring Tools Network monitoring tools have become essential resources for network and security administrators who are charged with maintaining the security levels of enterprise networks. These tools have powerful functions that have the potential to violate the privacy and intellectual property rights of users of the network. The Snowden revelations have created new emphasis on the risk to organizations of allowing unlimited access to administrators despite the fact that this unlimited access is often required in order for them to perform their responsibilities.
