Select two consecutive paragraphs from your case study project and complete the following:
"The connection of financial stress to health is quite explicit in the survey results, with nearly one-third of respondents who say that struggling to get by financially affects their ability to lead a healthy lifestyle and more than 20 percent who say that they have either considered or have skipped medical visits because they lacked the financial resources." Purnell, J. Q. (2015). Low-income people have more mental health problems because they are much more likely to be in serious psychological distress compared to higher-income people. Low-income people have greater social needs or concerns as some of them are unemployed and a majority have food insecurity or lack reliable access to enough quantity of affordable, nutritious food, they are worried about paying their rent, mortgage, or other monthly bills. They are also much more likely to report delaying care, not being able to afford prescription medications, and experiencing problems paying medical bills relative to higher-income people. "If you want to lower my blood pressure, help me pay my electric bill" "That statement from a resident of Rochester, NY has remained with me for several years because it so intuitively speaks to the connection between financial health and physical and mental health "Purnell, J. Q(2015). Low incomes are associated with a persistent cycle of inadequate access to quality food and housing, financial stress, poor health behaviors, threats to personal safety, and lack of access to care. These circumstances put low-income people at an increase in health risks, even when there are no serious health problems present. It is challenging for health care providers, but necessary for managing patients' health care, preventing more serious health problems, and improving health outcomes. People seek money to meet their needs. When a person has a strong desire for something, they are more likely to put their focus there. They focus on money and neglect their health because they believe that money will provide them with all they require which in turn will bring them good health. The truth is it's the other way around. One must always take care of their health so that one is able to enjoy life.
