Step 1 - Come up with a new reality television show. Use the Market Segmentation Chart as a reference to segment the population based on the type of consumers you would market this show to (you may have more than one segment of the population that might be interested in the new show). Once that is complete, determine the specific audience you will target by thinking about what makes a target market attractive.

Step 2 – Identify the competitive advantage (point of differentiation). What does the new show offer that others do not?

Step 3 – Once the competitive advantage is identified, create a positioning statement using the correct format.
