Alice and Bob are running a QKD key exchange and using the obtained quantum keys for secure communications with a one-time-pad (OTP). They agree that after using the shared key, they burry it in a secret time capsule in the cellar because future auditing may require to compare the ciphertexts and the messages for integrity.
