Maya is a 29-year-old teacher living in Charlotte, North Carolina. Maya is in the second trimester of pregnancy with her second child. Her first pregnancy had no complications and so far, this pregnancy had been progressing normally; however, recently she has been tiring easily and is frequently short of breath. She has been dizzy and light-headed, almost to the point of passing out. She also has experienced frequent leg cramps. She is not sure if all these symptoms are related, or even anything other than a result of her pregnancy but she has made an appointment to see her doctor.
