An introduction to biology student read a paper that compares two different medicines claiming to prevent the flu. The study included two groups. Group 1 takes medicine A and group 2 takes medicine B. Both groups are the same age, get the same amount of sleep, eat three healthy meals each day and live in similar environments. At the end of the study, 3 people from each group came down with the flu. The researchers concluded that both medicines reduced the chances of getting the flue. The biology student states that they cannot draw this conclusion because there was a flaw in their study. What was the flaw?
