Many times during environmental studies in Ecology students will say "I can do what I want it's a free country". "You can't tell me where to throw my trash or to recycle or even to drive a car that gets better gas mileage." How can you respond intelligently regarding the realities of pollution, global warming, resource depletion etc.?

Should they be housed in zoos etc. if there is no place to release them to their native environment? Should extinct animals be cloned (if DNA is available le) to reintroduce the species?
