Many times during environmental studies in Ecology students will say "I can do what I want it's a free country". "You can't tell me where to throw my trash or to recycle or even to drive a car that gets better gas mileage." How can you respond intelligently regarding the realities of pollution, global warming, resource depletion etc.?
