PART 1: Scheduling and Cost
Whether a project is being developed from scratch or is acquired, project management is still necessary through the final delivery. In this Discussion Board, you will consider what the differences are by applying system acquisition processes and principles.
1. Explain how you will refine your system acquisition project schedule of activities and deliverables that will also be incorporated in your Key Assignment project plan. (In reviewing your initial project schedule, what additional activities or deliverables did you discover that might also need to be included?)
2. What evaluation techniques will you use to determine which seller has the best system that you are hoping to purchase? What information will you ask for in the request for proposal (RFP)?
3. What information will you require from the selected vendor in terms of project status and budget?
PART 2: HR PROJECT MANAGEMENT
With any human relationship, conflicts will arise. These can be an advantage or a determent to a project. For example, for some team members, the one individual who is always asking lots of questions is perceived as a conflict to forward progress, when this could really be a positive conflict because the detail and overall documentation for the project will be better. In this Discussion Board, you will explore both positive and negative conflicts, look at causes for stress, and determine what might be effective tools for consensus decision making.
1. Describe 6 potential conflicts (at least 3 negative) and their potential impact on a project.
2. Describe 3 stresses and their potential impact that could affect individuals on the project or the project as a whole.
3. Research and determine a method for performing consensus decision making.
