Misty attends your office for their scheduled counselling appointment with you. Misty explains that they have been feeling "depressed" lately. Misty has missed many shifts at work and spends most of their days in bed. Misty tells you that this all started when their partner left them to pursue a new relationship and that they have not been "right since." Misty wants to know how they can regain their energy and improve their self esteem. As a solution-focused counsellor, you listen to Misty attentively as they describe their presenting situation. You state "I know just how you feel" and suggest that they try melatonin to help them improve their sleep hygiene. Are there any drawbacks with your counselling approach?
