Below are 3 scenarios that contain ethical dilemmas. Address each scenario and explain your answer in a paragraph or two. This case is to test your handling of ethical decisions.

Scenario 1: As catering manager of a large banquet operation, the flowers for your hotel are booked through your office. The account is worth $15,000/month. A florist offers you a 10% kickback ($1500) to book the account with him. Given that your colleague at a sister hotel, in the same company, receives a good bonus and you do not, despite having a better financial result in your operation, do you take the kickback? Explain.

Scenario 2: You work for a casino where two people have just applied and been interviewed for a manager position. They would end up being the same level of manager as you, a middle manager for the casino. You are having a water cooler conversation with other employees when one of the people on the selection committee reveals they picked the guy over the girl, because she was pregnant and would need more time off than the male counterpart. Do you think is right or wrong? Explain.

Scenario 3: You are part of a restaurant franchise, working in the kitchen alongside the cook and line cook. Daily you get to see the food prepared and made, and how they cook everything. One day the kitchen manager takes the cook and line cook aside and you overhear him asking them to use less food in the servings, same thing he is telling beverage people, less alcohol to be used in the drinks. Prices have not changed any; the kitchen manager wants to save money. No one has been made aware of the changes. Do you think there is a problem with this situation? Explain.
