The above quote is from Sandberg's video on women and the 'Glass Ceiling', discussed in week 11.
Overall, women are under-represented in senior management positions in business, sports, and politics. According to Sandberg's quote, which she explained in the video, women are under-represented because they do not "lean in", "sit at the table", and also "leave before they leave" (i.e. women don't actively apply for, don't participate in, and give up too early in their pursuit of top management positions).
PART A: As a human resource (HR) manager, do you agree or disagree with Sandberg? Critically discuss. (Hint! There is no right or wrong answer, but you must apply HR concepts in your discussion)
PART B: One of your colleagues has suggested the use of incentives to increase the percentage of women in top management positions by at least 10% in ten years. Suggest two incentives that governments or corporations, or both could apply. Briefly explain how each incentive works.
