A microchip manufacturer selects 400 chips at random from a large production run for quality testing. Let phat be the proportion of chips in this sample that are found to be defective. If 3 percent of all the chips in the production run are defective, what is the approximate probability that the sample proportion of defective chips will be between .01 and .04?
