LO 1: Implement integrated health and safety systems and strategies to proactively management risk and hazards with regards to both health and safety.
SCENARIO
In this assignment you will consider a construction company - Willie's Construction - who handle small to medium construction projects. The construction is based on joining steel frame houses and then applying roofing, cladding and completing the internal fit out.
They have 10 full time staff
o Willie the owner and project manager
o Julie the office manager, pay clerk and stores manager
o Johnny, the foreman
o 4 Tradesmen
o 2 Labourers
o 1 Apprentice
Employ on any project, up to 10 contractors at any given time. Contractors include but are not limited to:
o Electricians
o Crane operators
o Plumbing
o Plasterers and Painters
o Glaziers
The worksite is fluid as the projects are all around a mid-size city, the depot is a large shed but it is essentially a warehouse for their equipment and a set of offices
You may provide other details you feel are appropriate to the client's business as long as they are in line with the base description.
ASSIGNMENT TASK
Prepare an onsite Occupational Health and Safety Management System or Site Specific Safety Plan (SSSP) for the construction project that can be presented to the client, R.A.P. Projects Ltd., for the duration of the project. The plan should contain an appropriate range of information for the work to be completed.
