Question

In the U.S, there is a general aim towards improved and safe healthcare practices and regulations. However, the regulations or policies are often times specific to different states. As a resident of Illinois, there are healthcare policies that are different than what it is in a state like Florida. In regards to scope of practice in the health sectors, the one difference that I noted was florida has it's own board of nurses group that pick which schools that the nurses studied in meet the criteria to be accepted when they apply to work in that state. These board member group of nurses is interesting because they require 13 members with specific and unique criteria. Furthermore, the Illinois state medical society claims how it prefers a team approach when it comes to policies that try to expand the scope of practices in healthcare. In terms of regulations, both Florida and Illinois care for the patients rights and individual dignity. To add on, they also believe in consent and being transparent with the patient, but one difference that I noticed in regulation is that for florida it stated how the patients or consumers must respect the rights of facilities on denying.
