Create an annotated bibliography of 5 resources based on

your thesis from unit 2.

This is my thesis: GMO foods are not safe to be in our food source since there has not been enough long-term research to prove that it is safe for consumption.

You will include one resource from each of the following categories:

1) Book/eBook:Use the library's catalog and/or eBook database to find a book or eBook. You do not have to read the entire book, just take a look at the introduction, table of contents and any reviews/summaries to get an idea about its contents.

2) Article from a scholarly journal:

Use Academic Search Premier, JSTOR, Project Muse or ProQuest to find a scholarly/peer

reviewed full-text article. Make sure that the article is not a book review.

3) Article from a popular magazine or newspaper:

Use LexisNexis, CQ research, Wall Street Journal, or Los Angeles Times to find a full-text

article. This one should not be scholarly but should also not be a book review.

4) Online scholarly article: Use an Internet tools (such as DOAJ or Google scholar) to find a scholarly article that is freely accessible and is available in full-text. It cannot be a book, a book review or a  blog.

5) Credible Website:

You can use any method you wish to find a credible website, but you must evaluate it and include in the annotation why it is credible (please see unit 8 for information on how to do this).

Part 1: Thesis statement (worth 5 points)

At the top of your annotated bibliography you will create a thesis statement using the topic that you choose in unit 2.

Part 2: Citations (worth 3 points each)

You will create a citation for each of the five (5) resources listed above using the Modern Language Association (MLA) format. You must use this format consistently for each citation.

Part 3: Annotations (worth 3 points each)

Immediately following the citation for each resource you will write an annotation paragraph that includes the following information:

1. Where did you find this resource (database name, web tool used, or other information)?

2. Is this resource scholarly? Why or why not?
