Mr. John Tate is a 74-year-old man who comes to the clinic for a "routine checkup." Mr. Tate denies any specific complaints except that he has some nonpainful sores on his legs that "don't seem to want to heal." Hair distribution: Full head of hair that is coarse and thinning. No areas of balding noted. Hair color is gray. Overall appearance of skin: Skin is pale pink, thin, and dry, with flaking and tenting present. Face and neck: Pigmented, raised, warty lesions (seborrheic keratosis) noted on face. Three cutaneous tags noted on neck. Several senile lentigines lesions noted on neck and face. Chest and abdomen: 1-mm, tiny, bright-red round papules (cherry angiomas) noted on chest. Angular surgical scar noted in right upper abdomen. Extremities: Legs and ankles have areas of erythematous, scaling, and weeping patches. Legs slightly edematous. No hair growth noted on legs. Upper arms: Skin very thin and dry; several senile lentigines noted on arms bilaterally. Nails: Nails are yellowish and thick but well-trimmed.
