You are Dean of a business school. There is debate in your school about the role of Professors in the classroom. The concern is that rather than focusing on teaching how to think, some Professors use the classroom to propagate liberal ideas. Some Professors even go further by negatively stereotyping people who hold opposing views. Such Professors do not act as an impartial leader in the classroom, but thrust their ideas, views, and opinions onto their students. Students cannot argue due to the fear of being isolated. There is de-individuation because students allot more value to class unity that individual expression and opinions. There is a lack of norms about validating highly opinion-based thinking in the real world. What phenomena explains this phenomenon and the related concern(s)?
