QUESTION 1
Describe the events that take place when you cut your finger with a dirty nail. Think about what immune barriers were crossed, what cells react and when, what signals are sent.
For part A- tailor your answer such that the innate immune defenses can take care of the invading pathogens. Focus on what immune responses are happening and how you can kill the pathogens before they become an issue.
Please be specific in your answer. Include terminology from the lecture such as (neutrophils, complement, diapedesis, phagocytosis, and cytokines)
For part B- Rethink your answer assuming your innate immune defenses were NOT able to clear the Initial invading pathogens. What responses come next? How does that adaptive immunity kick in? What cells are at play during the activation of adaptive immunity? What is the role of innate immunity in activating adaptive immunity? What are some key cells and locations at play here? How do B cells get activated, how do T cells get activated? Describes the roles of T cells and B cells.
It is a very curcial concept to understand how the immune response is mounted against viruses, bacteria, protozoans and helminthes. For an effective immune response, both innate and adaptive immunity should work together.
This Project report elaborates a critical review of important elements attached to Advanced Glycated End Products (AGEs). It is very crucial to understand the process called Millard reaction.
