Assessment Task: Learning Portfolio
Students will actively engage with all aspects of the course and in the process, compile a learning portfolio as per the following guidelines:
Part 1 (600 words)Choose 3 key topics covered in Module 1 of this course, then: (a) summarise each briefly, and (b) show clear links (or connections) between the topics you have chosen. You can focus on any 3 of the following topics:- Colonisation OR post-colonisation- White privilege- Whiteness studies OR Critical Race Theory- Discourse theory (i.e. the role of discourses in sustaining unequal power relations).
Part 2 (600 words)Choose 3 key readings from Module 2 then: (a) briefly summarise your main ‘takeaways' from each of the readings, and (b) what links or connections you can see between the 3 readings.
Part 3 (600 Words)Choose 3 philosophical concepts covered in Module 3 then: (a) briefly explain what you understand by each, and (b) comment on how these 3 concepts shape or inform debates on cross-cultural practice.
