Assignment:
On a separate sheet of paper or using notecards: complete your choice of 1a, 1b, or 1c AND 2.
1a. Draw out a large cell that includes the following organelles/parts (a-j) and label with the FUNCTIONS written next to the labels or below the drawing. Do NOT use letters a-j as labels; use the proper term.
1b. Create a table that includes the name of the organelle/structure, its function, and a small drawing or anatomical description of that part of the cell. Feel free to use the version on Canvas if you want.
1c. Create flashcards for each of the organelle/structure. Place the structure name on one side and the function AND drawing or anatomy description on the other side (if doing flashcards, lay out all the flashcards and take a picture of them as a group - one photo with one side and a second photo with other.
2. After completing part 1, imagine the cell as a factory OR a small city. Choose a factory or city and then create an analogy for the role of 2 structures or parts from below and a corresponding part of a city/factory. For example, you might think about the role of a peroxisome as being a wastewater treatment facility in a city that removes toxic substances. You don't need examples for every part - choo the best 2 analogies you can come up with. Your analogy must be DETAILED with an explanation like the sample I gave.
