Role and Characteristics of a Salesperson In the required and recommended readings you learned what business-to-business (B2B) sales is, as well as characteristics of successful salespeople. This discussion has two parts. Part 1 Choose an industry and provide two examples of companies that go to market differently (i.e., B2B and B2C). An example is in the clothing industry. Nike has their own retail stores (B2C) and also has a sales team that sells to national retailers, such as Macy's, Kohl's, Finish Line, etc. Another example is Aramark (uniforms). They sell their uniforms to businesses with a sales team as well as through their website. In your discussion, share your perspective on why you think the business examples are effective in their market strategies or how they could be more successful. Part 2 Pretend you are a sales manager and provide at least three characteristics that you would be looking for when hiring a salesperson. Use the same two companies in Part 1 for this part. Explain why these characteristics would be important for that company and industry.
