• What are your inclusion and exclusion criteria?

• Have you summarised your inclusion and exclusion criteria using the PIO/PICO components?
Comprehensive search
• Have you provided a detailed overview of your comprehensive search so that somebody else could replicate this?
• Consider Boolean operators
• Consider which databases you propose to search and why
• Are there any other places you could search for literature?
1st and 2nd selection
• Have you provided a clear and explicit overview of the selection process?
• Have you provided a rationale for this?
• Have you considered methods to ensure the reliability of this process?
• Have you provided an academic justification for this process?
Assessment of methodological quality
• Have you chosen the appropriate tool for your proposed included studies?
• Have you considered methods to enhance the reliability of this process?
• Have you considered giving a numerical score for overall quality?
• Have you considered the strengths and weaknesses of your approach?
Data extraction
• Have you provided a detailed overview of what you will extract from your included papers?
• Have you considered how you ensure this process is robust?
• Have you provided a draft data extraction form in the appendix?
