A closed rigid tank contains water in equilibrium at a temperature of 225 °C and a quality of 0.35 (35%). The mass of the liquid water present is 0.25 kg.

a) What phases are present in the system? (Give justification)

b) What is the mass of vapor that is present in the tank in kg, if any?

c) What is the volume of the tank in m3?

d) What is the pressure in kPa?

Now assume that heat has been added to the enclosed system such that the temperature in the tank rises to 275 °C.

e) What is the new quality of the system?

f) Sketch the process from the initial state to this new state on a T-v diagram. Label state 1 and state 2, and sketch the isobars that passing through the state. Label these isotherms with their values of pressure. Include the saturation dome in your sketch.
