Brandon Peele is founder of the Planet Purpose Leadership Academy. In his presentation, he told us how purpose is important. In our daily life, we should strive to have purpose. According Peele, we can have enthusiasm and persistence if we keep our purpose in mind. For instance, I save money in order to have a better life in the future. In this example, my purpose is have a better life. As long as I keep the purpose in my mind, I will have enthusiasm and persistence to save money.
Also, Peele mention that a good concept of purpose is important to managers. In a company, managers should know what a purpose the company should has. In a company, a mission statement includes the firm's purpose. For example, Nike's mission statement is, "To bring inspiration and innovation to every athletes in the world." If a company has purpose, it will have a target and develop direction. According to Peele, both for profit and non-profits companies have different operational purposes. What's more, managers need have purpose in their daily decisions. In a company, purpose can help managers make better decisions. It can also enable company to operate well and under control.
From Peele's presentation, I understand the importance of purpose. I will try my best to set my purpose before I make decisions in my life. My dream job is a manager. I believe I can do better as a manager if I have the habit of setting my purpose before I make decisions.
