There are two videos to view in preparation for answering the questions below.

You are a supervisor at ABC Finance, a mid-sized business in the banking and finance industry. You have been with ABC Finance at the Toronto location for 6 years. ABC Finance has operations in Toronto as well as Fredericton, New Brunswick, Calgary, Alberta and Vancouver, British Columbia. There is one HR staff with ABC Finance who is located in Vancouver.
Your orientation program is going well, but longer-term staff become jealous of the attention, respect and treatment of the new hires. They say that the new program is not fair because the new hires are receiving wonderful treatment that they themselves did not receive. They want recognition, appreciation and to feel valued too.
More change is needed. You realize that you need to work harder if the new changes put in place are going to be successful.
- How do you respond? List four reward and recognition programs, polices or procedures you will propose for all staff. Be creative. Explain the program, policy or procedure and the details
- Explain how this will improve the company culture by recognizing and appreciating people
- How might new staff and longer-term staff work together better? Provide a specific program, policy or practice that you recommend be implemented. Explain the new initiative and why you think it's a good idea
