Assignment:

This week is all about cardiovascular disease and we are reviewing theurapeutic diets that are often recommended for patients. Many of you will be familiar with the keto diet as it has been trending for some time. I've heard from a few Dietitian colleagues that they have seen patients admitted to hospital or LTC where family members are insistent that the institution provide a ketogenic diet for their family member as that is what they've been following at home - some of them on advice of a cardiologist or other physician

What challenges/opportunities would you imagine you might face with patients/residents requesting this if you are the FNM in this setting.
What actions might you take if this was asked of you?
Your answer should include a little info about the similarities and difference between traditional cardiovascular diet reccomendations and keto diet so that it is clear you understand the difference between these diets.
